As soon as he walks in, praise him, give him a treat and pet. A small breed dog or puppy at first can be picked up or put in a bag for transporting puppies, and a large animal should sit in the back next to the owner or another person. Play with your dog before or even during your trip.

First you need to make short trips, for example, to a park area or a natural area with a pond - where the dog likes it, so that he will have a pleasant experience from the trip. On the way, you can stop a couple of times, go out into the fresh air with your pet. Watch the dog's behavior, as soon as he starts to show anxiety, stop the car, cheer him up, pet. When she returns to normal, the pupils will narrow, and breathing will become less frequent, you can go further. In no case shout or hit the dog, as unpleasant actions on the part of the owner, coupled with loud sounds, shaking and unusual sensations, can aggravate the problem - next time the pet will be more afraid. It is necessary to train the dog to the car gradually, while always encouraging.

Increase the frequency and duration of your trips. But if you don't see any improvement and the dog is always feeling unwell, use the anti-motion sickness medications that are usually prescribed for children. Also, make sure that the air conditioner is always on in the cabin in hot weather or a window is open. When your pet gets used to driving in a car, you can take long trips, but in such cases, take your usual food and a bowl with you, where you will pour water during stops. On long trips, stop and let your dog play and run.
