Anatolian breed, or Turkish Shorthair, like Van, is a natural breed that was formed in the conditions of the Turkish Lake Van. Secondary feral cats of this breed live, however, not only in Turkey, but also in Iran, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Armenia. Anatolian cats are of great value, being a wild type of domesticated cat, because the more a breed is domesticated, the more likely it is for genetic diseases.

Ears are straight, set high and erect. The eyes are large, oval in size, set obliquely, the color is in harmony with the color of the coat.
Wool and color
The hair of cats of the Anatolian breed is short, has a fine structure, but it is slightly harsh to the touch, there is practically no undercoat. Almost all colors are recognized, except for chocolate, cinnamon, lilac and fawn in any combinations, as well as colorpoint colors.
Behavior
Anatolian cats are mobile, active, love to play with various rustling objects - paper balls, golden grains and candy wrappers - during the game they often carry small objects in their teeth, they can even bring back to the owner small toys thrown to them. By the way, Anatoli practically do not meow, but only make sounds similar to the chirping of birds. For this they are sometimes called chirping cats.
