The Burmese cat, or sacred Burma, is a color-point semi-long-haired cat breed that, according to legend, comes from Burma. Do not confuse the Burmese with the Shorthair Burmese. Sacred Burma can be recognized by its unusual color, named Burmese by the name of the breed. With the color-point color of the coat, the sacred Burma is characterized by the presence of white "gloves" and "slippers" on the paws.
Appearance
The sacred Burma has a medium size, a small head, legs with characteristic “gloves” and “slippers”. The weight of females of this breed ranges on average between 3, 5 and 4 kg, and males reach 8 kg. In other breeds, the "gloves" on the paws may be uneven, but this does not apply to the Burmese cat. The more uniform the color, the better.
Wool and color
In long-haired Burmese cats, there is only one type of color - the so-called color point. However, there is a great variety of colors. There are blue, purple, red, cream, chocolate and many others. By the way, kittens of the sacred Burma are born absolutely white, and later they begin to darken.
Character
Representatives of the Burmese breed are sociable, loving. They are also obedient, gentle, calm, intelligent. These cats are also clearly not deprived of mind. Burmese women give their owners their love and affection and need a reciprocal affection. These cats welcome guests without fear, moreover, even with curiosity, circling around and looking at newcomers. Sacred Burma is not very mobile, prefers to sit somewhere on the sofa or on the lap of the owner. However, if the cat is in the mood, she can play, for example, run after a rustling candy wrapper on a string. Cats of this breed rarely give a voice, and their meows are more like pigeon cooing.
