There are also champions among animals! Someone strikes a person with their strength, and someone can do actions that are absolutely impossible in our opinion. Among the fish, there are also champions in speed. Just imagine that there is a fish that is capable of swimming at a speed of 130 km / h!
For a long time, ocean scientists have been trying to determine which fish in the ocean is the fastest. Among the contenders were such large and noble fish as dolphin, swordfish, shark, cod and several exotic fish.
The speed measurements were carried out by directly measuring the speed of the vessel, which is running at the same speed as the fish being examined. The difficulty lay in the fact that the fast challengers overtook all the vessels available to the researchers, except for jet skis and powerful boats. It was this speed that was recorded by scientists upon reaching the moment of convergence. Naturally, the measurement was not a single one. A series of experiments was carried out in accordance with all the rules for conducting scientific work and consisted of a number of measurements.
As a result of the experiments, two record holders were selected.
The first contender is the swordfish. The speed of the swordfish was 130 km / h, which was not always possible to fix with standard floating equipment. Only jet skis are capable of developing this speed. For the same fish, this is the usual speed.
The second controversial contender is the sailfish. The fact is that it was not possible to understand what maximum speed is available to this fish. In ordinary life, she uses a speed of about 100 km / h. However, there have been cases when she overtook the swordfish.
Thus, answering the question which fish is the fastest in the ocean, we can safely call a swordfish.
