You have become the owner of a tiny Yorkshire Terrier puppy, and now it is on your shoulders to take care of his health and well-being. Eating right and walking regularly is not enough. For a dog to be healthy, it needs to be vaccinated.
Instructions
Step 1
The greatest danger to the health and life of your pet is infectious diseases, and the only way to prevent it is vaccination. Animals are vaccinated against plague of carnivores, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, infectious hepatitis, parvovirus enteritis and rabies.
Step 2
Puppies are usually vaccinated for the first time at the age of two months. After 21 days, the puppies are re-vaccinated with the same vaccine. The third vaccine should be given to the puppy at six to seven months after the change of teeth (when the teeth change, the Yorkies' immunity is weakened).
Step 3
Ten to fourteen days before vaccination, the Yorkie needs to drive out the worms. If this is the first vaccination, then the anthelmintic is given twice: after the first time, a two-week break is taken, then the medicine is given again, the prescribed ten to fourteen days are waited, and only then the puppy is vaccinated.
Step 4
Vaccinations should be done in a veterinary clinic, where they will not only supply you with the vaccine, but also make the necessary marks in your passport. If your dog is afraid of clinics, you can take the doctor home, where your Yorkie will receive the medication in a relaxed atmosphere. Before signing up for a vaccination, read the reviews about the clinic, make sure that they have all the necessary certificates confirming the high qualifications of the staff. Check who the supplier of the vaccine is and what conditions it is stored in. Due to a violation of the storage conditions, the vaccine may simply stop working.
Step 5
Before you go to the veterinarian, make sure your Yorkie is doing well: he has a great appetite, he plays and frolics. Measure the temperature of the animal or ask the doctor at the veterinary clinic to do this.
Step 6
Subsequently, you will need to repeat the vaccination every year. Do not forget to vaccinate your dog against infectious diseases and rabies. These precautions will help your Yorkshire Terrier live a long and happy life.
