Cats that have access to the street often bring a tick on themselves, and most often the one that has already sucked. The parasite should be immediately removed from the animal at home or the cat should be taken to the veterinary clinic. It's no secret that ticks are carriers of encephalitis, and animals can get sick with it, just like humans. If you decide to remove the tick, follow the general recommendations, be extremely careful and attentive.

Step 1
Wear rubber gloves or you could get sick through direct contact with the tick. Then take machine oil, sunflower oil, or olive oil and apply it to the animal's skin where the tick has stuck. After a few minutes, the parasite will be unable to breathe and will begin to weaken.
Step 2
Wrap the insect with a thick thread near the very head and begin to swing it slightly. When you feel that the tick is wobbling from side to side without hindrance, slowly pull the thread. You can reach the insect with ordinary tweezers, gripping it tightly.
Step 3
After the successful completion of an important matter, treat the bite site with iodine or strong alcohol. Observe the cat's behavior: If you notice that the animal is not feeling well, take it to your veterinarian as soon as possible. Better yet, take the tick for analysis, which will reveal whether the insect was a carrier of a dangerous disease or not.
Step 4
Animals are also given an injection of immunoglobulin, so if you can pay for the drug, do not refuse to give it. The dose of the drug required by the animal will not cost you very much.
