Explore everything around. If the hamster has lived with you for a long time, it is quite possible that very soon he will independently get out of the shelter and return back to the house. If the animal is purchased recently, you will have to conduct a detective investigation. Remember that you cannot move furniture and slam shelves and doors, because this way a hamster can easily be crippled or even crushed. If you know exactly which room the hamster escaped to, and you are sure that he did not have time to move to the next one, close the door tightly and wait for the fugitive to make itself felt.
Step 2
Lures in the form of seeds or nuts spread out on the floor work very well on hamsters. By the way, if you are completely at a loss where exactly your fugitive friend might be hiding, you can spread the treat in each room and watch where it disappears. It is not worth worrying about the long absence of the hamster, this animal can calmly exist outside the cage for several days. As soon as you notice that the bait is disappearing, you can narrow your search to the limits of one room. If there is no way to look into the most hidden corners, sprinkle the floor next to the seeds with flour or starch. By the footprints of the paws, it will be possible to calculate the direction in which the fugitive left for you and find his new nest.

Set up a trap. Usually, hamsters go out in search of food at night, which is why during the day you can especially not hope that someone will fall into it. Set up a glass jar or small basin so that there is a slide or ladder near the outer edge. The height of the wall of your trap should be adjusted so that the hamster cannot jump out of it. And then everything is simple: put a treat inside, a little bedding from a hamster's house and wait. If all goes well in the morning, you will find your fugitive sleeping peacefully at the bottom of the trap.
