Have you decided on the purchase of a new aquarium and prepared it for the reception of new inhabitants? Please note: you cannot run all the fish there at once, as this can lead to dramatic consequences both for individual individuals and for the entire ecosystem of the aquarium.
Instructions
Step 1
Clean the aquarium thoroughly with baking soda and salt. Avoid using detergents, as residues on the walls of the aquarium can harm plants and fish.
Step 2
Place the aquarium on a perfectly flat surface so that no cracks appear on the glass due to liquid pressure on one of its walls.
Step 3
Lay the soil after rinsing and boiling it. The thickness of the soil layer must be at least 5 centimeters.
Step 4
Install equipment for the normal functioning of the aquarium. Such equipment includes:
- a filter required to clean the aquarium from waste products;
- a compressor that will saturate the aquarium water with oxygen;
- heater for heating water in the cold season;
- thermometer for monitoring the temperature of the water.
Step 5
Having installed the equipment, start planting plants. Be careful not to submerge the growing point in the ground, otherwise the roots of the plants will stick out in different directions later.
Step 6
Having prepared the ecosystem of the aquarium in this way, fill it with water. Use only tap water, do not bring water from rivers and ponds, as it may contain harmful bacteria and heavy metal particles. Wait 2 weeks.
Step 7
If your fish live in natural conditions in the same climatic zone, launch everyone into the aquarium at once, but if they are natives of different latitudes, then when you move neighbors you will hardly be able to avoid victims. In any case, it is better to launch the fish in batches so that they gradually get used to the aquarium ecosystem.
Step 8
Quarantine each subsequent batch for up to several weeks. Before starting the next group, gradually change the chemical composition of the water in the container in which your pets are "overexposed". Over the course of several hours, gradually add water to the transit container with the fish located there and carefully observe their behavior. When you start each next batch of fish, you do not need to feed, they do not have time for a meal at this moment.
