Arabian horses are known as one of the most beautiful and oldest horse breeds in the world. The first domesticated horses appeared on the territory of the Arabian Peninsula in the 4th-7th centuries AD.

The results of excavations carried out by archaeologists indicate that animals similar to the Arabian horses existed on earth about 4,500 years ago. Arab tribes developed a breed that could easily exist in the desert. Due to such qualities as endurance, hard work, intelligence, quick learning, Arabian horses were intensively used in military campaigns.
Step 2
The Arab thoroughbred horse was a very expensive gift, it was presented to the leaders of the tribes, the rulers of states, especially important persons. Mares were in high esteem, as they were considered more hardy and suitable for procreation.

Arabian purebred horses outwardly differ from other breeds with their magnificent torso, a clear wedge-shaped shape, expressive eyes, large nostrils, strong wide bones, a concave profile, a graceful neck, and a high tail set. They are short (stallions have an average of 153.4 cm, mares - 150.6 cm), have a strong heart and voluminous lungs.

The unique proud profile of the horses is primarily due to the structure of the skeleton. Arabs have 17 ribs, 5 lumbar vertebrae and 16 caudal vertebrae, while representatives of other breeds have 18 ribs, 6 lumbar and 18 caudal vertebrae. There are also external differences: the neck is in the shape of an arch, on a relatively small muzzle in the form of a wedge, large eyes and nostrils, an elongated body. It was these physiological characteristics that made the Arabian horse the ideal breed for dry, hot climates.

Arabian horses are mainly gray in color of various shades; representatives of a bay, red, less often black suit are also often found.

The characteristics of horses have practically not changed over several thousand years. The beauty of Arabian horses is mesmerizing and gives a sense of confidence and reliability to the rider. It is not for nothing that these majestic animals were the subject of special pride of their breeders. Each representative of the breed even had its own pedigree, which was passed down from generation to generation in the presence of witnesses, certified by a special oath.

Arabian horses boast the longest life among other horses. Most of them live up to 30 years, and mares can bear offspring to a ripe old age.

Modern interest in Arabian horses is not fading away, and this is confirmed by the fact that all over the world there are factories for breeding and maintaining this breed. Today, the blood of the Arabian horse is found in almost every breed of racehorse.
