Rats are very intelligent animals. From time immemorial they have lived side by side with humans. But if earlier these rodents were only pests, now many keep them in apartments as pets. And of course, questions arise about how and what to feed the animal, how to equip it with a home, how to play with a rat.
Instructions
Step 1
The most important thing in playing with a rat is not to forget about its size. The rodent's paws are very thin, especially for the toes. If you inadvertently pinch the feet of a rodent or drop the rat to the floor, you can break thin bones. Therefore, try not to lift the animal high above your head, so that it does not accidentally fall.
Step 2
If you want to lift the rat by the tail, you need to do it very carefully. The tip of the tail is very sensitive and you can damage the cartilage. In addition, not all rodents love to be lifted by the tail and can bite you in revenge. Better not to play this way, even with the most peaceful rat. The reaction can be unpredictable.
Step 3
Rats very quickly get used to their owners, become tame. They can even be taught to bring small objects - a cap from a felt-tip pen, a pencil, a small soft ball. To do this, you must first draw the pet's attention to these objects, roll it on the floor. When the rat starts to taste them, call it to you. If she brought a thing in her mouth, take it gently and give the rodent a treat. Rats are smart enough and very quickly understand what they want from them.
Step 4
To prevent your pet from sitting in a cage while you are not at home, put a spinning wheel there. The rat will quickly understand how it works and will warm up while you are away. Also leave some toys in the cage. It is better to choose items that are made of wood - they will not harm the animals.
Step 5
You can also play catch-up with a rat, just like with a cat. Tie a favorite rodent treat on a piece of string and run away from it, dragging the toy along with you. The animal will definitely not remain indifferent and will rush to catch up with you.
Step 6
Whichever game you choose, always keep the safety of the animal in mind. Look closely at your feet to avoid stepping on your tail or paw. Don't give toxic plastic toys. Do not lift the animal by the tail. Then the rat will love you with all his heart and become a true faithful friend.
