A cat is not just a fluffy lump that meets home from work. This is a friend and a full member of the family. And when the question of moving to Europe for permanent residence arises, many owners do not hesitate for a minute whether to take it with them. Finding useful information only confuses, incomprehensible requirements promise a lot of paperwork: the task seems difficult to accomplish. But it is worth putting everything on the shelves, and the difficulties give way to the desire to take the tailed friend into a new life.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, look for an international veterinary passport. How? Doesn't your cat have that? Then go ahead to the veterinary clinic for such an important paper. "Mustache, paws and tail - these are my documents!" - your favorite would say. But nowhere without a passport, even a cat.
Step 2
Chipping. In the 21st century, a simple "and my name is: kitten Woof" is not enough to identify an animal. Implantation of a microchip under the skin is a paid service and is not carried out everywhere, but without it the road to Europe is ordered for the cat. The main thing: the chip must comply with the international ISO standard and be transparent both in Russia and abroad.
Step 3
Rabies shot. Vaccination is indicated for animals older than 3 months and must be from companies listed in Europe (for example, Nobivac). Put it on no earlier than 1 year before the trip and no later than 21 days, since the vaccine does not take effect immediately. Important: chipping first, then rabies vaccination.
Step 4
Fleas and worms - down with! Deworming and antiparasitic treatment are mandatory, which are done at least 5 days before departure (but no later than 24 hours).
Step 5
Veterinary certificate (form No. 1 BET). 1-3 days before the trip, you need to visit the veterinary clinic with a cat again (this time it is necessary to go to the state one). Doctors will check the passport, dates of vaccinations, names of vaccines and the most eared one, and then they will send you on a good journey with Form No. 1.
Step 6
International veterinary certificate. 30 minutes before check-in at the airport, go to the Border Veterinary Control point. There, provide the employee with a certificate of form No. 1, and he will give the required certificate. If there is no veterinary service at the airport, do not be afraid to call the airline: a specialist will be called to your flight.
