Even if you do not plan to display your pet at dog shows, make sure that he has all the documents in order. Such documents can also be issued for dogs purchased from the Poultry Market, and not only from registered producers.
Instructions
Step 1
If you bought a puppy from a breeder or from a kennel, then you should have a puppy card in your hands, which usually includes information about the parents of your dog, its breed, nickname, brand, color and date of birth. In addition, it should contain information about you, as the owner, as well as the breeder or cattery. In other words, this is a kind of dog's birth certificate, almost analogous to a human one.
Step 2
Take your puppy card and contact your local RKF office for pedigree. It is best if at this moment your dog is at least 6 months old, since the breeder must have time to transfer information about the litter to the RKF and register them before you apply there.
Step 3
If all the documents you handed in are in order, and a general-purpose card from the breeder has been received in the RKF archive, get the pedigree by presenting the receipt issued to you when you contact the federation department. After that you will be able to take your pet to domestic Russian exhibitions.
Step 4
If you need to take your dog abroad, issue an "export" pedigree in the RKF, in which all data must be written in Latin letters. Please note: when transporting dogs by rail and air, you will need to issue a veterinary passport (if you have not done so yet), buy your pet a full ticket and go through the chipping procedure with it so that it does not get lost. The vaccination course must be carried out no earlier than 11 months before the date of travel. It is better to contact the veterinarian in advance, but no later than 5 days before the start of the trip.
Step 5
If you bought a purebred dog on the market or on an ad without a puppy card, contact the RKF so that the experts recognize it as such. After that, you will be given a registered pedigree. In other words, the race will begin with your dog. If the dog is recognized as a mongrel, the only document that you can issue for it is a veterinary passport.
