Step 1
Have a preparatory conversation
Take the cat in your arms, pet it and gently explain that you love her and are not going to do anything bad. On some animals, the soothing speech of the owner acts like tranquilizers, and they endure the subsequent unpleasant procedures with firmness and painlessness. If your animal does not belong to this category, a preliminary gentle conversation will perfectly serve to lull its vigilance. Of course, it may seem to you that this is unnecessary, but, believe me, it is not so. For a cat, the procedure for instilling in the eyes is rather unpleasant and frightening, but if it is rudely and unceremoniously grabbed and twisted before this, this will not add love to the treatment at all.
Step 2
Secure the cat so that it cannot scratch you or pull out abruptly
For calm specimens, the usual clamp between the owner's knees or light pressing to the floor is suitable. But if your furry weighs more than eight kilograms and with any attempts to encroach on his precious health shows real miracles of balancing act, you need to act more subtly. Prepare cotton swabs dipped in warm water or sleeping black tea
A separate cotton swab must be used for each eye. Once the animal is secured in a comfortable position, wipe its eyes with swabs to remove dirt and pus. Now close the cat's upper eyelid and pull the lower eyelid slightly. In the resulting space, drip one drop of the medicine, trying to get as close to the corner of the eye as possible. Do not drip more immediately, as the excess may leak out. Put the lower eyelid back in place and lightly massage the eye to distribute the drops evenly. Repeat with the other eye.
