Almost all parrots nest in captivity. But their different types require different conditions. Large ones - gray, cockatoo, macaw - rarely breed chicks in captivity. Rosella, ringed and other medium-sized parrots reproduce well in the aviary, especially if it is installed outdoors. For small birds - lovebirds, azure, budgerigars, a spacious cage is suitable.

Instructions
Step 1
Parrots are monogamous. Birds that have formed a pair always stick together, distinguish a partner. When mating parrots begin to "chase" others around the cage, it becomes clear that the time for nesting is approaching. The best time to raise parrot chicks is from March to October. Small species can breed throughout the year.
Step 2
Place the birds and disinfect the cage. Dry. Hang the nest box. It is placed on the outside of the cage, close to a special hole, so that its free area remains unchanged. Pour birch sawdust into the bottom of the box.
Step 3
During this time, allow the parrots to fly more. This improves metabolism, which has a positive effect on the health of future offspring. Make sure that there is always a sufficient amount of grain mixture in the cage, greens, vitamin and mineral supplements are present. From the first day of nesting, it is advisable to enrich the main feed by mixing grated carrots, chopped chicken yolk, dry cottage cheese with them, it is recommended to give sprouted feed. After 2-3 weeks, the female lays eggs.
Step 4
On average, there are 4-5 eggs in a clutch. Chicks hatch at 18-20 days. At first, the male feeds the female, and she feeds the chicks. After a week, both parents are already carrying food for the chicks. Sometimes it happens that the female refuses to feed the chicks. Without food, they can withstand about 12 hours. For full development, it is advisable to transplant them to another female. On days 7-8, the chicks open their eyes. By the end of the third week, they fledge, at the age of 35-40 days they leave the nest.
Step 5
Prepare a soft and friable feed mixture for feeding the young. Mix 2 parts crushed breadcrumbs, 1 part ant eggs, add carrot juice, grated apple, some fish oil and crushed shells. The result is a moist mass rich in vitamins.
Step 6
Carefully monitor the cleanliness of the cage, as the chicks are still poorly versed in food. Young parrots are removed after they start feeding on their own. Young parrots eat more than adult birds and need ample feeding. Sometimes parents drive out the young, because the female is going to sit on the nest again, but this should not be allowed.
Step 7
To feed the young, prepare the following mixture: chop a hard-boiled egg, grate raw carrots and some ground crackers. Add dandelion, grated unsalted cheese, dry yeast, seaweed, grape sugar, infant formula.
Step 8
The main thing in the diet of young parrots is vitamins during growth and puberty and active movement. Their health and appearance largely depends on this.
