Alabai, or Central Asian Shepherd Dog, is a very large and strong animal. It's hard to keep him in the apartment. This massive dog feels most comfortable outside the city, in an open-air cage.
Instructions
Step 1
Alabai are guard dogs. And from early childhood, puppies try to protect the owners and their property. This valuable quality must not only be encouraged, but also controlled. Selfless Alabai are sometimes too proactive and try to protect their owners even when they are not in any danger. And since the adult Central Asian Shepherd is a very large creature, it is quite difficult to restrain their impulse.
Step 2
The Alabai puppy needs to be taught that it is forbidden to show aggression without a reason. Teach him the "Fu" command. He must do it immediately and without repetition. When the puppy does what is forbidden for him, go up to him, say strictly "Fu" and press on the sacrum. This will make the kid sit down and get distracted from his business. Look the puppy in the eyes and say "Phew" again. Let the puppy go. If he took up the old, repeat your actions. If you stop doing what you have forbidden, praise and give a treat. In the early stages of training, always feed your baby tasty, if he deserves it. This way he will remember the commands faster.
Step 3
You must make it clear to the puppy that you are in charge. If you do not become a leader for such a large dog, it can end up sadly. If you are walking your dog on a leash, do not let it pull you forward. The puppy may think that he is the leader. Let the baby walk next to you.
Step 4
Teach your puppy to the new "To the leg" command. To do this, put a treat in your pocket, let the baby smell it. Shorten the leash so that the puppy can feel the tension. Keep the dog close by repeating the "To the leg" command. Start walking. Walk 10-20 meters and praise the puppy that he did not try to push forward. Give him a treat. Walk forward repeating the command and holding the leash. Over time, when the puppy learns the command, you can release the tension or completely unhook the leash.
Step 5
Always remember that alabai are strong and large animals, and they can scare passers-by with one of their looks. People may start to make abrupt movements that the dog perceives as a threat to itself or to the owner. To avoid accidents in crowded places, put on an alabai muzzle, walk without a leash only where you are sure that there are no strangers.
