Common pigeons live in harsh climatic and forage conditions. This is eloquently testified to by birds with fingerless limbs, and sometimes simply emaciated or dead individuals frozen in the snow. Decorative breeds of pigeons, due to their less adaptability, all the more need careful care, feeding and maintenance in the nursery.

Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you need to decide what breeds of pigeons you will be engaged in, how many birds you intend to keep in the future. It should also be taken into account in what place and at what height it is possible to put the nursery. The type and size of the future home of your wards will depend on these parameters.
Step 2
When designing and building a nursery, remember that the optimal number of individuals in a flock is 9-11 pairs. Each bird requires from 0.5 to 1 m3 of territory, depending on the size of the breed being raised. The house should have two compartments for the separate keeping of pigeons from pigeons in the winter season, one compartment for young animals, and one more for feed and equipment.
Step 3
Usually, the imagination draws aviaries for birds located on the roof of a shed, garage or house for a beginner pigeon house, but they are also built on the ground. The main condition for this is that the nursery must be at least 25 cm from the soil. It must be oriented so that the facade with an exit and a light window faces south or southeast for natural sunlight.
Step 4
The height of the premises in aviaries should be about 2 m, the area of the skylights should be at least a tenth of the area of the department floor. At a height of 10-15 cm from the floors and in the roof, make ventilation windows with doors tightly closed for the winter. With their help, you will get rid of humidity in the nursery, regulate the temperature, which should not fall below 7C ° in winter, and rise above 20C ° in summer.
Step 5
The nursery box is built from wooden planks, from iron sheets, sheathed inside with plywood or boards. In areas with harsh winters, the walls are made double, with insulation between them. Inside, the ceiling and walls are plastered, clogging the cracks with tow. The roof must be covered with sheets of iron, roofing material or slate.
Step 6
In any case, no matter what opportunities you have when building a pigeon house, keep in mind that the decorative breeds of these birds in the room do not tolerate humidity, cold below five degrees and heat above twenty. Remember also that the device, the size of the nursery and the entrance to it must be such that you can keep it clean and tidy.
