The feeder came to us from England relatively recently, but is gaining more and more popularity among our anglers. In its structure, it is very similar to our donks, but it is a device more effective and convenient to use. Not everyone can buy a ready-made feeder in a store, so let's talk about how to assemble it yourself.

It is necessary

  • - fishing line;
  • - rod

Instructions

Step 1

If for one reason or another you decided to assemble the feeder yourself, then the order of your actions will be as follows. First, choose a rod, take into account the weight of the used lures, the sensitivity of the tips (tips can be soft and hard).

Step 2

As for the choice of line, then there can be two options: braided line and monofilament. If you choose braided line, then choose the softest, this will provide it with greater wear resistance. When choosing a monofilament line, on the contrary, stay on more rigid options, this will reduce the stretch coefficient, and also increase the overall sensitivity of the tackle. All feeder lines are more or less similar, they have a dark color, large unwinding, each is equipped with a special coating that protects it from chemical and mechanical damage, provides improved line glide on the rings. Remember that feeder fishing means the lines will be sinking.

Step 3

Choose the same rig for stagnant water and for strong currents. Keep a few ready-made rigs in stock, this will allow you to make a quick change if necessary. Pick up the hook based on the size of the intended prey. To avoid losses during the installation of the equipment, simply fasten each subsequent element above the hook stronger than the previous one.

Step 4

Use a bait feeder to attract fish. To make one, take a regular spring feeder, remove the limiting collar, which is located on the central plastic rod, and pull out the rod itself. Then melt a small amount of lead, dip the feeder in there, wait for the lead to harden, and then clean the sharp edges and edges with a large file.

As a nozzle, use maggots, dung worms, barley, star-shaped pasta, semolina, canned corn or green peas. It is better to use home-made feeding from cereals, do not add oil, it will only worsen the stickiness of the prepared mixture.
