The dog protects the house and the surrounding area from unwanted guests. To make the dog feel comfortable living on the street, you need to build your pet a cozy and comfortable kennel.
It is necessary
- - good and thick wooden boards;
- - insulation.
Instructions
Step 1
Make a plan for the future building. The kennel should not be too small, the dog will be cramped. It is not worth making a structure that is too spacious, a large room is more difficult to insulate. It is better to calculate the size of the future kennel based on the parameters of the dog. The width of the hole is the width of the dog's chest plus five to eight centimeters. The height of the manhole is the height of the dog at the withers minus five centimeters. The width and length of the booth is the length of the dog from nose to tail. The height of the booth should be equal to the height of the dog from head to feet
Step 2
For the puppy, design the structure based on the estimated future size of the pet. If you are unsure of how your puppy can grow, make a plan for a large breed dog house. It is better if the dog's dwelling is spacious than cramped
Step 3
Find a suitable place for a kennel. Choose an area from which all of your property is clearly visible. It is very good if the right place is in the southern part, so that the dog is not cold in autumn and winter.
Step 4
Prepare several wooden blocks or bricks, it is on them that the booth should be located. These bars will protect the kennel floor boards from dampness and decay. For the kennel itself, find wide and thick boards. They must be flat and dry. Thoroughly shave the wood and sand it over so that the dog does not have splinters on the pads. Screw the boards for the bottom of the booth to the bars. Lay a special insulation on top, its thickness should be at least 50 millimeters
Step 5
Now make a half of the kennel. When the bottom of the booth is finished, mount the walls of the dwelling. The walls and ceiling themselves must have the same structure as the floor - double flooring, between the boards of which there is a thick insulation. For additional protection from the cold, you can sheathe the floor, walls and ceiling with plywood or fabric. The roof should only be attached to the ceiling so that the entire top of the kennel can be removed if necessary
Step 6
To prevent rainwater and snow from accumulating on the booth, build a gable or gable roof. Start building it with making fronts. Remember, the roof should protrude 20-30 centimeters forward so that water does not flow into the kennel. Screw boards or sheets of ondulin to the fronts. Place a soft mat inside the booth. Make the "door" from warm fabric. It remains only to decorate the dog's dwelling from the outside.
