Dressage is one of the types of classic equestrian sport, which was mentioned in ancient Greece. But dressage in its modern form originated in 1532, when Frederico Grisone founded the first equestrian academy and began to train horses in complex and spectacular movements. This sport quickly became popular among the nobility. And since 1912, dressage has been an Olympic sport.
Instructions
Step 1
The main task of dressage is to teach the horse to move as gracefully as possible. And the main goal is to improve the natural movements of the horse and its characteristics. A well-trained horse moves well, maintains balance and does everything as if of his own free will. But in order to achieve this, she must react quickly to all the commands of the rider.
Step 2
If you decide to go in for dressage, you must have self-discipline above all, and also strive to improve your own riding skills and be ready to learn.
Step 3
The means of influencing the horse are the rein, the leg and the rider's body itself. The classic riding position is elegant and comfortable to control the horse. To determine the correct fit, draw a line in your imagination from your ear over your shoulder and thigh to the heel of your boot. If this line fails, your seating position will not provide a balanced and stable position in the saddle.
Step 4
Keep an eye on your fit at all times. To do this, check yourself every two or three minutes: whether the legs are lying and working correctly, whether the neck and back are enslaved, whether the hands are in place. Bring the self-test to automaticity.
Step 5
Start with a young horse without spurs. After a while, put on the harrots or ball-shaped spurs. Go to the thistles carefully. Use permanent spurs with your horse.
Step 6
Start training a young horse from the outings on a bridle with a bridle iron, gradually moving on to a mouthpiece headband. You should not rush to make the transition. The longer you use the bit, the better results you will achieve later.
Step 7
From the very beginning, keep the rhythm in mind - the basis of the basics of dressage. To do this, it is necessary to choose the correct rhythm at the moment when the horse walks freely, with his head down, and then maintain it all the time, regardless of the type of gait.
