Getting a dog in a private house or bringing your four-legged friend to the country for a long time, you need to provide him with comfortable conditions. Putting your pet on the street or in the house is not the best option. Therefore, you will have to make a kennel for him. A doghouse must be made according to all the rules, and if you wish, it can be made beautiful, so that it decorates the surrounding space.

Step 1
First, choose a place for the kennel. It should be in harmony with the landscape and buildings and give the dog a good view of protected objects. In addition, the kennel is best placed on the south side, but not in direct sunlight, but in the shade. You cannot choose damp places for a dog house, the ideal option is a small hill.
Step 2
After the place for the booth is chosen, you need to decide on the size. The dog should lie freely in his home, comfortably stretched out in length. In order not to be mistaken, measure the dog at the withers and add 3-5 cm: the height of the kennel should correspond to this parameter. Then find the length of your pet from nose to tail and add another 10-15 cm: this will be the length of the booth. Another necessary figure is the width of the dog at the shoulders, also add 10-15 cm to it: this is the width of the house.
Step 3
Knock down a rectangle from the boards, make a plywood wall inside. Place insulation between the boards and plywood. In the front wall of the booth, make a hole for the entrance, a hole. It should fit the size of the dog.
Step 4
Lay the floor of the boards in the kennel, having previously sanded them and eliminating all irregularities. The nails you use to hammer the planks should not stick out inside the booth so that the dog does not get hurt. If they do come out, bend the tips.
Step 5
Install a removable roof, it will allow you to disinfect the kennel and, if necessary, take out the sick animal. Make a roof with planks that fit tightly together. It should protrude 25-30 cm above the entrance to protect the kennel from rain. Cover the roof with roofing felt from above.
