Pig breeding is profitable and interesting. In order to have the maximum income when raising pigs, you need to know about the correct methods of breeding, keeping and feeding them.
Instructions
Step 1
First you need to build a warm shed, make enclosures in it. If you will not only raise pigs for production, but also engage in their breeding, then the room should be spacious, bright and without drafts. Mandatory with exhaust ventilation.
Step 2
It is equally important to get a good breed of pig. If you choose a bad breed, no matter how you feed them, no matter how correct the content is, you will not wait for profit.
Breeds have proven themselves well: Russian White, Landrace, Estonian bacon, Vietnamese pot bellies, and various breeds with their cross.
Step 3
Having chosen a breed, piglets need to be properly fed. Piglets are fed 4-5 times a day. Portions at a time should not be large, always containing milk and skimmed milk, the bedding is changed very often. Piglets must be clean and dry. It is better to take them from the sow in 2-2, 5 months. Young animals that have been under their mother for a long time are stronger and more viable. All boars intended for meat production must be bailed out immediately. Piglets are also vaccinated against infectious diseases at the age of 3 months. To do this, you need to invite a veterinarian.
Step 4
You need to add special additives to the feed: vitamin, mineral, meat and bone meal, fish meal, fish oil.
Step 5
As soon as dry weather with a positive temperature is established, the piglets need to be walked. To do this, build a fenced outdoor area. Walking is carried out separately from adults. Grown up pigs are gradually transferred to three-time feeding.
Step 6
The feed should consist of concentrates, the amount of milk in the diet is reduced, and a large amount of skim milk is added. In the summer, be sure to give fresh grass, and in the winter hay. Add root vegetables and kitchen waste to the diet. Continue adding fish oil and meat and bone meal to the mash.
Step 7
With good feeding and maintenance, young animals reach 100-120 kilograms in 6 = 7 months. Further maintenance is not advisable, as it increases the cost of obtaining products. All pigs are slaughtered. Only the highest quality individuals are left for the production of offspring.
Step 8
The productive age in a pig begins at 8-9 months, in a boar at 12-14 months. For offspring, the pig must be at least 90-100 kilograms, but not fat. The covered pig is fed with high-quality food and must be taken out for a walk. Walks are canceled only in severe frosts. The pen where the pregnant pig is kept must always be clean and dry.
