Step 1
It would be best to take the animal to a veterinary clinic for an appointment. The doctor will identify the cause of your pet's concern and prescribe appropriate treatment. But if for a number of reasons it is not possible to visit a veterinarian, then try to cure the dog on your own.
Step 2
First, determine if the tick is actually causing itchy ears. To do this, examine them. If you see a dirty sulfur deposit that looks like coffee grounds, take a scraping. With a cotton swab or swab, you can simply wrap cotton wool around a match, remove a little plaque from the dog's ear, then examine with a magnifying glass. The presence of translucent gray, tiny, about 0.4 mm in size, parasites indicates infection of the dog with ear scabies.

Do not postpone treatment, because in advanced cases it will be much more difficult, besides, a complication in the form of otitis media may begin. There are many drugs on the market, they usually contain an insecticide with the addition of auxiliary components, even hormones. Drops are very effective. They differ in both composition and methods of application. Therefore, be sure to follow the instructions included in the package.
Step 4
Although only one ear may be infected, inject the medicine into both. First, clean them of accumulated dirt and sulfur. When doing this, use different cotton swabs so as not to transfer ticks from the affected ear to the healthy one. Instill the medication in a dose according to the instructions for this medication. Repeat the next treatment, also according to the instructions, because some ear drops will not kill mite eggs.
Step 5
If the auricle has inflamed areas, then apply sulfur-tar ointment, Wilkinson, Konkov or another. Since mites often crawl onto the skin, it is recommended to wash the animal with a shampoo containing pyrethrin or another insecticide.
