Have you decided to make a wavy friend? How not to make the wrong choice and buy a healthy bird?
Instructions
Step 1
Take a closer look at the behavior of the parrots in the cage. A healthy bird is active, it does not sit huddled in a corner and does not sleep, ruffling its feathers. Alert if the bird is constantly scratching.
Step 2
When you make your choice, pay attention to the plumage of the bird. Feathers should be clean, close fitting to the body, without bald patches.
Step 3
Look at the parrot's beak. It should be clean, smooth, without build-ups, and the correct shape. Beak in males is blue, in females pink or brownish. The nostrils are the same size.
Step 4
The eyes of the budgerigar give away its age. In a young bird, they are black without a halo. In older birds, a light ring appears around the edges of the eyes.
Step 5
Legs should be clean, symmetrical. Each finger should have a healthy claw that does not prevent the bird from sitting on the perch. Any growths, peeling on the paws should alert.
Step 6
The breathing of the bird should be silent. Whistling and wheezing can be a symptom of a cold.
Step 7
Before making your final decision, watch the parrot. Being active, sociable, and having an appetite are good signs.
