An ear mite in cats is a tiny parasite that bothers the wearer and, in the worst case, leads to hearing loss in the animal. At the very first symptoms of this ailment (the animal is constantly combing its ears or black dots and excess sulfur appear in its ears), it is necessary to immediately start treating your pet.
It is necessary
- - preparations for getting rid of ear mites ("Amitrazin", "Dekta", "Bars", "Amit", "Tresaderm" and similar);
- - chlorhexidine or hydrogen peroxide;
- - cotton pad or cotton swab;
- - vegetable oil;
- - garlic;
- - echinacea;
- - bleach solution.
Instructions
Step 1
If you can, then take your pet to the veterinarian. He will conduct the necessary examinations: he will do a cytology, take a scraping from the animal. Only a veterinarian can determine the type of ear mite and prescribe the appropriate treatment for your pet, and not a generally accepted set of drugs that can harm the animal. As a rule, the veterinarian will prescribe a course of special ear drops, which you can easily inject on your own to your pet.
Step 2
Use special preparations to get rid of ear mites. There are a lot of them. New generation drugs destroy not only the parasite itself, but also its eggs. There are medicines that contain an antibiotic, as a result of which, in addition to killing the tick, they additionally treat secondary bacterial infections and fungus. Buy drops at the pharmacy: "Amitrazin", "Dekta", "Bars", "Amit", "Tresaderm" and similar. Before using drops, read the instructions carefully.
Step 3
Rinse the cat's ears before using the drops. Take chlorhexidine or hydrogen peroxide. Soak a cotton ball or cotton swab in one of these preparations and clean both ears thoroughly. Place the required amount of drops in the ears (read the annotation to the preparation) and gently massage them from the outside so that the drops are evenly distributed along the walls of the animal's auricles. If the drops accidentally get into the cat's mouth, then give her plenty of milk to drink.
Step 4
Use ordinary vegetable oil (sunflower, olive, almond). Do not use tea tree oil - it is very dangerous for the animal. Take a few cloves of garlic and crush them. Add chopped garlic to oil and leave overnight. Clean your cat's ears. Put 5 drops into each ear hole. Repeat this procedure once a day for one month.
Step 5
Strengthen your pet's immune system. Give your little one echinacea. This plant will strengthen its immune system. And remember, if you have several animals in your house, then you need to treat all at once, since the ear mite is very contagious. And also take a bleach solution and process all the animal's habitats. Do this cleaning daily throughout your pet's treatment.
