The cage is necessary for any bird that lives at home. There is an opinion that she can live freely in a room, and does not languish behind iron bars. However, birds quickly get used to their cozy home and leave it only to stretch their wings. Therefore, when purchasing a bird, you should take care of a house in the form of a cage.
It is necessary
metal profile, mesh, chipboard, galvanized sheet, corners, self-tapping screws
Instructions
Step 1
Considering the size of the bird that will live in the cage, decide on the dimensions of its home. Count the amount of material.
Step 2
Make frames. They will serve as a frame for the cage, and a mesh will be attached to them. The frames are made of four blanks of metal profiles, the length of which is determined by the dimensions of the cage.
Step 3
Cut off the side sections of the metal profile at the two side blanks and bend the remaining longitudinal section 90 degrees. This is necessary in order to secure the lower and upper blanks.
Step 4
Assemble the frame. Connect the workpieces using self-tapping screws, screwing them into the stops of the side workpieces.
Step 5
Cut off the desired amount of mesh. Measure the mesh along the frame, marking the locations of the mesh wires.
Step 6
Disassemble the frame and make holes in the marked places. The diameter of the hole should be the same as the diameter of the wire from which the mesh is made. Next, we assemble the frame using a mesh, the wires of which we drag into the holes made.
Step 7
Bend the wires of the mesh that are sticking outward, thereby securing the mesh securely and stiffening the structure. The number of such frames is five. One frame will act as the front wall, the other as the back. One frame is needed for the top of the cage and two frames on the sides.
Step 8
Make a frame from the finished frames. The frames should be combined with corners using self-tapping screws.
Step 9
Make the base of the cage. Particleboard is perfect for this purpose. We cut the blanks to the required size. We fasten with corners and screws.
Step 10
To make the cage easy to keep clean, make a pull-out tray. A galvanized sheet is suitable as a material. We make a frame from a metal profile, attach a galvanized sheet on it and the pallet is ready.
Step 11
An important element of the cage is the door. Therefore, in front we cut out a part of the mesh, and grind the sharp ends with a file. The size of the door should not be too large, as the mesh may deform. It is not difficult to come up with a door lock yourself.
Step 12
Place perches, a drinker, a feeder, and other necessary items for your pet in the cage. The cage is ready to receive the host.
