Corella parrots are good at imitating sounds, so they can easily learn to pronounce words. And although they are far from clear conversation of cockatoo, gray and macaw, it is still pleasant to hear human speech from a pet.
Instructions
Step 1
You need to start teaching Corella from an early age. They create comfortable conditions for her, that is, they provide her with balanced feeding, a spacious cage, and friendly communication. To make the bird better contact, and not be distracted by playing with different objects in the cage, they are removed.
Step 2
First, you need to teach the parrot to pronounce one phrase. Usually they start with a nickname. It is better if the pet's name contains hissing sounds, as they are easier to digest. The nickname is pronounced very often, over time the bird begins to repeat it.
Step 3
Now you can teach your parrot to speak more complex phrases. For example, the greeting: "Good morning." And when leaving, you can say: "Goodbye!". It is also good to reinforce the words with the corresponding sounds of the click of the lock on the door. Later, when someone enters the room, the parrot will immediately greet him.
Step 4
When a parrot's cage is closed with a cloth at night, you can simultaneously say: "Good night!" This phrase will be remembered by the bird precisely because of the effect of the shading of the light. And in the future, the Corella will always wish good night when she is sent to bed, closing the cage.
Step 5
Sometimes one gets the impression that the cockatiel speaks intelligently, with such an effect you can surprise your friends if you teach your bird to react to an apple with the words: "Give me an apple!" This is easy to do, an apple is shown to the parrot and the corresponding phrase is pronounced. In order not to develop a reflex to only one color, apples are changed.
Step 6
In order for the Corella to quickly learn some phrases, they can be recorded and given to the parrot to listen to for up to 40 minutes in one lesson. It is better to include a limited number of different phrases in one entry, otherwise there will be confusion in the bird's head.
Step 7
Cockatiels are smart parrots, they can even learn a whole song. In order for the parrot not to be confused, there is no need to rush and it is better to teach 2 verses at once. Of course, it will take several months to teach a cockatiel song, but hearing it from a pet is worth it.
Step 8
What you don't need to do is pronounce obscene words in the presence of a parrot. Otherwise, the parrot will express its opinion to your important guest at one point.
