Not only people, but also animals are prone to allergies. Dogs of the Shar Pei breed are no exception. Sometimes the pet's body becomes sensitive to a particular substance: food products, chemicals and household cosmetics, medicines, insects and parasites, wool or hair. At the first symptoms of allergies in the form of focal hair loss, wetting of the armpits, unpleasant odor from the mouth and scratching, immediately show the animal to the doctor and start treatment.

Step 1
First of all, take the dog to the veterinary clinic, where the doctor will carefully examine the animal and, if necessary, prescribe the appropriate tests. Basically, the diagnosis is made on the spot, based on direct symptoms suggestive of an allergy. Sometimes veterinarians go the simplest way - they give an injection of "Dexamethasone", which is a hormonal apparatus and does not cure allergies, but only temporarily masks it. Refuse this injection.
Step 2
To eliminate the itching, which has already tortured the animal, use antihistamines such as Erius, Tavegil or Suprastin. It is enough for the puppy to give half a tablet twice a day for three days. If the allergy appears suddenly, and the dog has a swollen muzzle, swollen eyes, immediately inject "Suprastin".
Step 3
It will take a lot of time and long-term treatment to remove allergens from the animal's body. To speed up their elimination, give Shar-Pei activated charcoal, three tablets twice a day (while the difference between charcoal and antihistamine intake should be two to three hours).
Step 4
Diet is the most important factor in treating allergies. It should consist exclusively of lamb and rice, which are hypoallergenic foods. At the same time, exclude all mineral supplements and vitamin complexes. Give exclusively purified water (distilled or at least boiled). In no case do not give the dog pieces from the table and warn the household, as all efforts can come to naught.
Step 5
Literally on the fifth day, you will notice significant improvements: the itching will pass, the spots will begin to disappear. If your pet had eczema and scratching on the skin, treat them with Celestoderm ointment, Ftorocort or Rescuer cream. For extensive sores, use Tsamax powder. When doing this, trim the hair around the edges of the eczema. Gradually start introducing other foods and monitor the animal's reaction.
