The formation of conditioned reflexes is based on the method of positive or negative reinforcement. If you want to wean a bad habit, use negative reinforcement. And if you want to create a healthy habit in your dachshund, use positive reinforcement.
Step 2
To create a strong behavioral stereotype, try to walk your dachshund every day at the same time, in the same places. Put the collar on the dachshund with the same fastener.
Step 3
If the dachshund has relieved himself at home, show her that you do not approve of this type of behavior. Bring the dachshund to the place where she relieved herself, poke her in the face, then punish. As punishment, you can use a symbolic blow with your fingers on the nose (this will be unpleasant for her), suggestion with an intonation of displeasure (dogs feel intonation). So you will make it clear to the dachshund what exactly does not suit you in her behavior. If you just scold her and kick her on the nose, she may not understand why you are punishing her.
Step 4
If you see that the dachshund is in need of the toilet, take it outside immediately.
Step 5
Accompany the dachshund toilet with some kind of neutral stimulus, for example, the sound of the bell, the light of a flashlight. This will create a conditioned connection between this stimulus and the toilet performance in the dog.
Step 6
If the dachshund has done a toilet in the right place, praise him. You can give her a bite of something tasty. So the dachshund will remember that making a toilet on the street is good, because it leads to pleasant consequences.
