Before giving vitamins to your dog, evaluate its diet. Study this table and, based on it, draw conclusions about what vitamin your four-legged friend may receive less.

The dog's need for vitamins is influenced by factors such as the height and age of the animal, its temperament, and the conditions in which the dog is kept. In most cases, vitamins are required by a dog during its growth, reproduction, and poor health. Adult dogs recover from various diseases much faster if they take the vitamins they need.
Step 3
The most important vitamins for a dog are A and D. Of course, the animal needs other vitamins, but many of them it gets enough from its food, while others are required only at certain times. Vitamin A is responsible for kidney function, visual acuity, regulation of the functions of the salivary glands. Lack of this vitamin causes an increased tendency to various infections and diseases. The main role of vitamin D is to support the correct growth of the dog.

Vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12 have a beneficial effect on the skin and muscles, protect the animal from anemia, and restore the nervous system. The intake of vitamins F and H also has a good effect on the skin. Vitamin E is responsible for fertility and successful reproduction, and vitamin C, as for humans, serves as protection against infectious diseases.
Step 5
The lack of this or that vitamin can be determined by the behavior of the dog: if the dog chews on a brick, eats earth, plaster, it lacks calcium, chews your shoe insoles - the dog most likely lacks B vitamins, picks up cigarette butts - it is worth starting to give the dog vitamin P. If the dog's coat becomes dry and tousled, lacrimation appears, the eye cornea becomes cloudy - the animal lacks vitamin A. With rickets, the forearm bones in the dog are bent, you can see that its hind legs become X-shaped.

When choosing vitamins for a dog and before starting a course of any of them, consult your veterinarian - an overdose of one or another vitamin can harm the animal.
