Cats, like any other animal, need vitamins. The beneficial substances contained in their composition affect the development of the animal's body as a whole. Do not think that giving your pet foods rich in micronutrients, you fill all the need for them. It is vitamins that are able to fill the body with all the necessary substances.
Instructions
Step 1
First, it should be noted that there are vitamins for animals, and there are treats that contain vitamin supplements. In the first case, you should strictly adhere to the dosage, course of administration. Treats can be given constantly and without the recommendation of a veterinarian.
Step 2
Start giving vitamins to the cat from the first months of life, that is, immediately after the kitten is torn from breast milk. Be sure to include vitamins A and D, as they help in the formation of the skeleton. These vitamins are also found in beef liver, egg yolk, milk and butter. Please note that you need to consult your veterinarian before taking.
Step 3
If your cat refuses to eat vitamin pills, purchase liquid vitamin and mineral supplements. Just add them to food once a day, the number of drops is set individually. Alternatively, you can crush the tablets to a powder and mix them into the food.
Step 4
Please note that it is not necessary to give vitamins for a long time, as a rule, veterinarians prescribe a course that lasts from a month to six months.
Step 5
Be sure to consult your veterinarian, as some types of vitamins should never be paired. For example, zinc should not be given with calcium and iron, as they react anemia and lower cholesterol levels in the cat's body.
Step 6
Give your cat vitamins at specific times of the day. Veterinarians distinguish between active and passive complexes. If the former should be given during the active phase, the latter should be given at rest. Active vitamin and mineral complexes promote energy production, and passive ones help cells to produce oxygen, stimulate kidney and liver function.
