Nothing gives a parrot living in a cage more pleasure than flying around an apartment. Letting birds fly and stretch their wings is essential for their health and well-being. However, not all of them like to return to the house after a walk. How can you get a parrot into a cage after it has flown?
Instructions
Step 1
Before the first walk with the bird, preparatory work must be done. First you need to tame it. Let the parrot adapt and get used to you. Only when he trusts you so much that he begins to take food from his palm will it be time to fly. Before walking, never forget about the safety of your pet: close the windows and close the curtains so that the parrot does not fly away and break on the glass. Hide anything that might harm him - chemicals, hot tea, open or switched on electrical appliances. Do not leave him unattended while walking.
Step 2
In order for the parrot to return to the cage without any problems and not have to drive it, strictly adhere to the following rule: never feed the pet outside the cage. Then, when he gets hungry, he will always return to his house. You can also try to hint your pet that it's time to go home. To do this, bring the cage to the place where he sits. Get his attention with something tasty and put the treat inside the cage. If there is a lot of entertainment inside the bird house - swings, ladders, mirrors, and the parrot does not get bored there, then he will more willingly return to the cage himself. But if your pet still does not want to go home, try carrying it on your hand. To do this, take your bird's favorite treat and lure it to sit in your palm. After that, carefully bring it into the cage and place it on the perch.
Step 3
If these methods do not help, the most radical method to drive the parrot into the cage remains - to catch it. To do this, you need to wait until darkness falls. It is worth noting that if you leave a feathered pet free after nightfall, then this may end badly for him. If something scares him, he may break or injure himself as he begins to rush about a dark room. How to catch him? Remember where your naughty feathered friend is sitting. Turn off the light and pick it up carefully. This method usually scares the bird very much. Therefore, after you put the parrot in the cage, be sure to turn on the light so that it can calm down. Also, be prepared to turn on the light during the "catching", if you will not succeed in catching the bird the first time.
