The easiest way is to tame young parrots who have not yet learned what life is like in a flock of their own kind. If an adult bird comes to your house, then it will take much more patience to raise it. There is a chance that such a wild parrot will never become tame. But you can still try to win the trust of the feathered one. Just keep in mind that an adult parrot will need as many months to get used to a person as its young brother needs weeks.
Instructions
Step 1
A wild bird, oriented towards life in a flock, usually scaredly rushes about the cage when a person approaches it or hides in a corner. She is scared and anxious, so be careful, do not expose your pet to unnecessary stress, do not approach him too quickly. Proceed gradually: first take a few steps towards the cage and see if the parrot is worried. If he gets nervous, stop and try again a little later, reaching exactly the same place, and stop. Stand for a few minutes, do not move or speak, do not look at the parrot. Do this several times a day. When the parrot stops worrying, try, being in the same place, look in his direction and say something affectionately or hum, and then very smoothly raise your hand to your face.
Step 2
When the bird gets used to your actions, repeat all the same, but get one step closer. If you notice your pet's concern, urgently take a step back and do not rush things: perhaps your bird is not yet ready for rapprochement. Gradually, you will find yourself next to the cage. This may take several weeks or months.
Step 3
If the bird is very afraid of people, it is better to put it in a small cage. There she will feel more secure than in a spacious one. You can also cover the cage on three sides with a dark cloth, leaving only the front open so that the parrot can only see what is in front of him. Monitor the condition of your pet and gradually open the cage more and more as the bird becomes more confident in itself. When the parrot is completely daring, transplant it into a large cage. For fidelity, you can put a small cage inside a large one for the first time.
Step 4
If you want to gain the full confidence of the wild parrot, you can try this method: several times a week, preferably after cleaning the cage, remove all food from it for 4-5 hours. Then gently open the door and gently move the feed to the bird by hand. The palm must be kept motionless, while talking with the feathery gently and quietly. Perhaps, over time, the wild parrot will be able to overcome his fear, understand that you only want good for him and will begin to take the treat from his hand.
