Horses are easy to look at, but difficult to care for. Proper grooming contributes to the good condition and mood of the horse. And wrong actions can cause discontent of the animal and even serious diseases. So how do you properly maintain a horse?
It is necessary
horse, stable, bedding: straw, sawdust, peat, plumbing, hose, water
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a place for your horse. In summer, it can be a fenced area with a canopy, under which the horse can hide in the rain. However, with the onset of cold weather, such a place for the animal will become completely unsuitable. Therefore, build a stable where the horse will spend the winter. Choose a building material that will keep you dry and warm. The best materials for a stable are wood and brick, but it is better not to use concrete-block raw materials, because the stable will be cold and damp.
Step 2
It is best if the horses are kept in separate rooms - stalls. The ceiling height should be about three meters, and the windows should be located 1, 5-2 m from the floor. Between the stalls there should be partitions with a height of 2.5 m. For a comfortable movement of the horse, the space reserved for it should be at least 9 m (3 by 3), it is desirable that it be more spacious. Make sure that all doors in the stable open outward and that they are at least 2.4 m high and 1.2 m wide.
Step 3
The horse's stall should have bedding on which he can rest, and where unpleasant odors and impurities will be absorbed. Build it with straw, sawdust, or peat. Change the bedding daily to avoid various infections. It is best used as a fertilizer.
Step 4
Install plumbing. This will give you the opportunity to hose down the horse. This will be especially useful on hot days and after the horse has been working.
Step 5
Pay special attention to your horse's nutrition. Remember the most important rule: first to drink and only then to feed. Bring the horse water, only after she has drunk enough, start feeding. And in no case is it the other way around!
Step 6
Take care of the horse's appearance: trim the coat, monitor the condition of the horseshoes.
