The fact that pet owners are divided into "dog lovers" and "cat lovers" is understandable - these animals have painfully different characters. A dog, as a rule, unconditionally adores its owner and cases when it shows aggression towards him are considered a crime. For a wayward cat, showing aggression and scratching the owner is in the order of things. To avoid conflicts, learn to understand the language of feline postures, and mutual understanding will be achieved.
Features of a feline character
Of course, each cat has its own character, but their common feature is independence. They do not know how to adapt to the mood of the owner, like dogs. A cat in the house always lives its own life, and it is good if it patiently endures your inclinations for its independence. There are such persons that anyone, even their beloved master, can get under their "hot paw".
Having lived for more than one millennium with humans under the same roof, cats have practically not changed their habits. They often react and behave in the same way as their wild counterparts. Even imposing and phlegmatic thoroughbred representatives of the feline tribe, born as a result of careful selection, are ready to turn into a wild predator in one second if a bird flies in front of their nose or even just pulls a toy mouse on a string.
From wild fellows, cats have also retained the manner of bending their backs, fluffing their fur, in the event that they are in danger. In the blink of an eye, the cat turns into an aggressive puffing furball, almost doubling in size. If we add here the belligerently reared tail, burning eyes and low growling sounds that the cat makes at the same time, not every potential enemy will remain cold-blooded and will not retreat. This is a defensive reaction that is completely out of control. And even if more than anything in the world at this moment the cat wants to run away, it still cannot do it - instinctively it will take this threatening pose, which once saved the life of not one of its wild ancestors.
Young cats arch their backs like this during play, but at these moments they are in complete control of themselves, which is signaled by the hair, which is tightly attached to the body.
Be respectful to cats
In order not to become a victim of the sharp claws of your pet, learn to recognize latent aggression and not once again irritate the animal, because, being frightened, it acts instinctively and can seriously injure. Even if the cat, at first glance, calmly endures your obsessive caresses, but the tip of her tail is trembling, be prepared for the fact that endurance can change her at any time and stop testing her patience.
Do not punish the cat if, as a result of your violation of its personal space, it had to use its claws - this is your mistake, and not at all the animal's fault.
A curved back and bumpy coat can also be a sign of irritation when your cat wants to show you how big and vicious a beast she is so you can stay away from her.
