The easiest option is to make a shelter out of a regular cardboard box. Cut the entrance into it, and lay a soft rug inside.

The house can also be sewn from fabric with foam rubber. To do this, you need to choose a pattern that can be found in cat magazines or on the Internet.

For lovers of tinkering, we can recommend a house made of plywood or thin boards. It must be done in such a way that the cat can easily stretch out in its shelter. Be sure to place a soft mat on the floor.

The wooden house can be supplemented with a playground, because cats love outdoor games. Take several even bars of different heights, wrap them with hemp rope and fix them on a wooden stand next to the house. Attach platforms to the bars (it is best to cover them with fabric). Various toys on strings can be attached to the platforms, with which the cat will be happy to play.

And do not forget about the scratching post, which can be made as a separate attribute, or can be attached to the wall of the house with ordinary screws. Take a small board and wrap it with a hemp cord. You can try other options, for example, sheathe the claw-point with an old piece of carpet. Some owners make a scratching post from karemat (a tourist rug made of polymer material). You can also attach stuffed toys on strings to the scratching post.

Periodically do general cleaning in the cat house - take out the accumulated toys from there, wipe the walls and wash the litter. If the house is made of fabric, then just wash it once a month in a washing machine on a delicate cycle.

And finally, about the psychological comfort of your pet. If you made him a refuge, then the cat should understand that this is his territory, and he is completely safe there. Explain to the children that you cannot climb into the house to the cat when it sits inside, and do not disturb the animal yourself unnecessarily.
