You already have one cat or cat. But suddenly you decide to take another furry friend, or your friends gave him to you during their vacation and asked to look after him. How to do this so that the animals get along with each other and do not destroy the whole house in an attempt to sort out the relationship? After all, cats have such different characters. Someone will calmly accept the appearance of a new cat, while others will be aggressive.

Step 1
If the animals are still small, then it will be easiest to introduce them to each other. Small kittens adapt more easily to the appearance of a new friend. Launch the kitten into a room with another animal and watch their reaction. Let them sniff each other and get to know each other. Prepare separate bowls and drinkers for one and for the other, even if they will later be fed from the same dish. Give your kittens the same amount of attention, so that neither of them feels left out. If you notice that they show aggression towards each other, or one of them is in a fighting mood, then you can give them sedatives for cats. If you pay close attention to the kittens during this period, you will soon notice how they play together amicably and cheerfully.
Step 2
The situation is more complicated if you need to make friends with adult cats, since they already have a formed character. Some animals find it difficult to accept the fact that someone else will live on their territory. First, let the cats sniff each other. It is better if the new animal is at the same time in the carrier, and its door is closed. You may immediately see the cats start hissing at each other. If this does not happen then you can try to release a new cat. Just watch carefully for the reaction of both. If you see the first signs of aggression, separate the animals.
Step 3
If from the first minutes the cats did not find mutual understanding, then put them in different rooms. In the room where the new animal will live, put a feeder and toilet. Let him first settle down in one room. Give your old cat a bedding or other item that smells like a competitor. Let him gradually get used to it. For the same purpose, change the rooms of the animals several times a day.

Give enough attention to one and the other animal. So that none of them have a reason for jealousy.
Step 5
You can stretch an iron mesh between the rooms so that the cats cannot penetrate through it, but at the same time they can see each other well. You can also put bowls of food on both sides of this partition. This will also help cats get used to living together.

When you notice that the cats have stopped hissing, rushing to fight, then the net can be removed. But at the same time, you should not leave the animals alone for a couple of weeks. When leaving for work or on business, it is better to separate them in different rooms.
