A dream has come true - you have become the owner of a beautiful aquarium. The sight of swimming fish calms, pacifies and gives aesthetic pleasure. So that you can enjoy the attractive appearance of the aquarium for as long as possible, learn how to change the water in it according to all the rules. This process will require certain knowledge and skills from you.
It is necessary
Deep container, landing net, brush with stiff bristles, hose, bucket
Instructions
Step 1
So, prepare a deep container. Pour the settled water into it. Tap water for replacement must be defended for at least three days. If you ignore this rule, chlorine and other harmful substances will not completely evaporate, and your fish will die.
Step 2
Carefully remove all live plants from the tank and rinse under cold running water. Then put them in a container with settled water. It is better to throw out rotten and short plants. Dip the caught snails into the same container.
Step 3
Then take a jar or bowl and pour some settled water into it. Catch fish with a net. They will most likely be scared and difficult to do, try to catch the fish carefully so as not to damage it.
Step 4
Remove all rocks, figurines, or shells from the aquarium. Rinse everything thoroughly under hot water. Use a stiff bristled brush. Never use cleaning agents - no matter how diligently you rinse the aquarium accessories, you will not be able to completely wash off the chemicals, they will get into the water and this will lead to the death of the fish.
Step 5
If you have a small aquarium, then it will not be difficult for you to pour out the water, but if not, use a hose. To do this, place a bucket or any other vessel below the level of the aquarium, into which you will drain the water. Place the hose so that one end is in the bucket and the other in the aquarium. If the water does not flow on its own, take the end of the hose in the bucket into your mouth and suck in air strongly. Once the draining process begins, quickly transfer the hose to the bucket. If you hesitate, you will swallow dirty water.
Step 6
Rinse the aquarium as thoroughly as possible. Do not forget about the prohibition of the use of detergents - only water and a brush. Start with the glasses, then work your way down to the bottom. If the fish house has a round shape, it is easier to wash it.
Step 7
Put the aquarium in its usual place, put stones, shells and other accessories in it. Secure aquarium plants with stones. If there is a water filter, install it. Gently pour water in a thin stream. After filling, lower the snails and, last of all, the fish into the aquarium. Feed your pets after a while.
