Feline urolithiasis is one of the most complex and common diseases. It is important to discern the symptoms in time and start treatment, otherwise the consequences can be dire.

Step 1
Observe the cat's behavior. The main symptom of urolithiasis is a sudden cessation of urination. Stagnation of urine leads to impaired renal function, cerebral edema, and cardiac arrest. A sick cat worries, meows, tries to take different poses. Her belly grows, it becomes dense to the touch. After a day, the animal begins to moan, huddles in a corner and sits motionless.
Step 2
Give your cat first aid. Give her a sedative and antispasmodics: in one syringe, draw up 0.5 ml of 2% papaverine, 0.5 ml of platifillin, 0.5 ml of 50% analgin for a medium-sized cat weighing 3-5 kg. Place a warm heating pad on your lower abdomen and perineum. Do not massage your bladder, or you may injure it.
Step 3
See the cat as soon as possible to the veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment. The sick animal will be given anesthesia, an injection of sleeping pills, and catheterization of the bladder. Unfortunately, in severe cases, surgical treatment is necessary. The veterinarian will take a urine sample from the animal, conduct x-ray and ultrasound examinations. Treatment is selected individually, taking into account the age of the cat, the degree of the disease, the presence of other chronic diseases.
Step 4
Carry out the prevention of urolithiasis twice a year in spring and autumn. To do this, give your cat medications, such as "Cat Erwin" at a dosage of 1.5-2 ml per day for two weeks. Brew erva woolly herb, bearberry leaves or parsley root, strain and water your pet as often as possible, 2–4 ml each.
Step 5
Review your cat's diet. Eliminate raw meat, fish, eggs, canned food, sausages, caviar. It is better to choose special food for cats with urolithiasis. Provide the animal with constant access to clean, boiled water at room temperature.
