Step 1
To grow carp, one should take into account the fodder base, water quality and the climatic zone in which the farm is located. One of the most accessible and simple ways is to stock the pond in the spring with yearlings and catch them in the fall. During this time, the carp will reach its maturity and marketable mass. In the absence of the possibility of acquiring one-year-old fish, you can use the method of stocking the reservoir with fry and their further rearing.

The choice of carp breed is important for its cultivation, take into account the climatic conditions. For the central and northern parts of Russia, Central Russian, Parsky, Ropsha and Chuvash carp are suitable. For the southern part of Russia - Stavropol and Krasnodar, for Eastern and Western Siberia - Altai and Sarboyan carp.

The number of fish launched into a pond depends entirely on its area, not on its volume. Since carp mainly takes food from the bottom, this should be taken into account. The number of fish planted varies from 1000 to 2500 per hectare. With a greater amount of stocking, the marketable mass of carp will eventually turn out to be lower than the expectations.
Step 4
Do not overfeed the fish, otherwise it will lead to a greater release of metabolic products, which does not in the best way affect the quality of the water and can cause its bloom. It is preferable to feed the carp with live food: crustaceans, bloodworms, earthworms, gammarus and tubifex. Also include cereals and legumes in the diet, use foods high in carbohydrates and proteins.
Step 5
The fish quickly gets used to the time and place of feeding, there can be several of them and they are marked for convenience with landmarks. With a large number of carps (more than 1000), feeding is carried out in paths, that is, the feed is poured out in a strip over the surface of the pond. The length of the path should be several tens of meters so that there is enough space for eating.
Step 6
Create conditions to shelter part of the reservoir from the sun, this will allow the fish to be in the shade part of the time. To do this, use a natural fence in the form of trees and shrubs planted on the shore, or a special awning.
