Kittens are notable for their special charm - they are playful, trusting and sociable. However, small pets need more than just affection. From the first days of life in a new house, the animal must be brought up, properly fed and taken care of. A well-groomed kitten will grow up healthy and cheerful, bringing only positive emotions to the owners.
It is necessary
- - food for kittens;
- - toilet tray and filler;
- - toys;
- - combs and clippers;
- - cat's house or basket.
Instructions
Step 1
From the first days, work out the right diet for your kitten. Decide if you will feed the animal with industrial food or will prefer to cook it homemade food. The first option is much more convenient - properly selected ready-made food takes into account all the needs of the growing animal. A small kitten needs to be fed 4 times a day, and after a few months it can be switched to two meals a day. The kitten will quickly remember the feeding time.
Step 2
Solve the toilet problem. Buy a small tray - it should be comfortable for the kitten to climb into it. Find the right filler - compressed sawdust, clumping or gel granules. Please note that kittens prefer finer litter that resembles sand. Place the litter box in a secluded place where no one will interfere with the kitten. Make sure that the path to the toilet is always clear.
Step 3
Find a place to sleep. Cats love secluded corners - window sills, cushions, boxes of linen. To prevent your pet from encroaching on your favorite chair or bed, buy him a cozy basket with a soft mattress or a whole cat's house. But don't be surprised if the animal chooses a different place to sleep. Be persistent - sooner or later you and your pet will come to a compromise.
Step 4
Provide the animal with toys and communicate with it daily. The growing kitten is very active - let him run after the ball or jump for the mouse on the fishing line. Make sure that the animal does not play with wires, plastic bags and other dangerous things. A ball of thread is also not a very safe toy. Lock up household chemicals and products that are not intended for the kitten in cupboards. Houseplants can also be dangerous - if the kitten shows interest in them, move the flowers away.
Step 5
Fluffy kittens need to be combed out - this is especially important if you bought a purebred pet that will attend exhibitions. So that the animal does not perceive grooming as a punishment, from the first months of life, teach it to a comb and a brush. Cut your pet's claws regularly - the baby will not spoil your furniture, nor will he be able to injure himself and others.
