Snail farming is becoming more and more popular. No wonder. After all, snails are calm and unpretentious pets. The color and size of snails may vary. You can easily choose the breed that suits you. More than one and a half thousand of them live in Russia. Of course, not all snails are intended to be raised at home. But there are several breeds that take root perfectly anywhere and bring a large number of offspring. Achatina is one of them.

Instructions
Step 1
Get an aquarium with a tight-fitting lid. Make a few small openings in it for fresh air. Each individual must have a minimum of 30 square centimeters of free space. Purchase dirt and sawdust to cover the bottom of the aquarium. Check the ground for debris and various insects.
Step 2
Place 2 containers in the aquarium - one for water and the other for food. Make sure the edges are not sharp. Make shelters for snails. You can buy them at pet stores, or you can make them yourself. Use hard materials such as stone or thick plastic for this. If you decide to decorate your aquarium, do not use flowers, paper, plasticine. You can put natural stones or a thick tree branch inside.
Step 3
Be sure to bathe your snails several times a week. For this, you can use any running water. Get a spray bottle and spray thoroughly the entire aquarium 2-3 times a day. Add calcium to the diet of snails. These can be shellfish shells (you can buy at the pet store), egg shells, chalk.
Step 4
Feed your snails daily. Don't give them food from your table. Salt should not enter their diet, it can kill your pets. Feed them fruits, vegetables, herbs. Snails' favorite delicacy is rotten raw meat or fish. Take a small piece and leave in a warm place for 2-3 days. Then give it to the snails. Use fresh cucumber and banana with care. These foods are very popular with snails. There were times when snails got used to them and refused other food.
Step 5
Change the water in your snail tank every 3-4 days. Also carry out a change of land and sawdust every month. Let the snails crawl outside the aquarium. Do not plant them where they might fall. This threatens to damage the shell. If you find chips on it, cover them with epoxy glue. Increase the amount of calcium in your snail's diet. If the shell does not recover in the coming days, the individual may die.
Step 6
Each snail is a hermaphrodite, that is, all individuals bring offspring. When a clutch of eggs appears, cover it with something hard to prevent damage. When small snails appear, move them to another aquarium for a few weeks.
Step 7
If you see parasites or any formations on the snail, resettle this individual. Take her to the vet as soon as possible, treatment may be required.
