When you buy a dog into your home, you must understand that you are taking on a lot of responsibility. Now you have to find a compromise between the desire to provide your pet with a good life and the interests of others. This is especially true of the issue of walking a dog in urban areas. This is a problem, especially for owners of dogs of those breeds that require special responsibility and those that are large.
Instructions
Step 1
The main document regulating the issues of keeping dogs and their walking is the "Rules for keeping dogs and cats in cities and other settlements of the RSFSR", which were adopted back in 1981 and are still in force. In many large cities, local governments issue local regulations based on Russian laws, which establish the rules and norms for keeping these animals. Study these documents.
Step 2
The main requirements that regulate dog walking include a leash and a muzzle, which can only be removed on a special fenced area allocated so that your pet can run around there with his friends and not frighten random passers-by. The muzzle can only be omitted if your dog belongs to decorative breeds. Dogs of indoor decorative breeds also need to be taken out for a walk on a leash or in a special bag.
Step 3
So that there are no questions and complaints either to you or to your pet about the pollution of entrances and courtyard areas, you will need to carry a scoop and a bag with you in order to immediately clean up after the dog. This requirement should be strictly followed, not only walking with the dog on the street or in the courtyard of an apartment building, but also in a park or forest area located within the city limits.
Step 4
You will have to take care of raising your pet to be sure of its safety and the safety of passers-by during your walks. Teach him to strictly follow the commands: "To me", "Sit", "Beside", "You cannot". He should also learn to walk on a short leash and sit quietly while waiting for you on a leash outside the store.
Step 5
While walking, even if the dog is not released from the leash, but runs on a long one, constantly monitor its movement and take it on a short leash if strangers, especially children, appear nearby. Remember that inappropriate behavior of a child can provoke aggression even in a well-mannered and good-natured dog. It is always better to prevent an accident than to suffer the consequences later.
