In some cases, an aviary is needed to keep the dog. For the animal to be comfortable in it, the aviary should not only protect from rain and wind, it should be comfortable. Therefore, it is necessary to build an aviary taking into account certain requirements.
Instructions
Step 1
The size of the dog enclosure is very important. After all, she should feel in it not as in a cramped cage, but as in a spacious house. Therefore, for a dog up to 50 cm high at the withers, the area of the enclosure should be at least 6 square meters. That is, each side should be about 2 m long. If the dog is up to 65 cm high at the withers, then the area of the enclosure should be larger - at least 8 sq. M., If the withers are even higher - at least 10 sq. M. If more than one dog will be kept in the enclosure, its area must be increased by at least one and a half times.
Step 2
The floor of the aviary can be made of any materials - asphalt, wood, etc. But the material must be of low thermal conductivity and water resistance, and also durable. The ideal option is wood, but it should be smooth, not bendable, impregnated with an anti-rotting impregnation. The height of the floor from the ground should be at least 50 mm, this will protect the floor from moisture and the penetration of parasites.
Step 3
The walls of the enclosure must also be done according to the rules. One of them must necessarily be barred so that the dog can see what is happening outside. You do not need to close the opening with a mesh. Better to use metal pipes in 50 or 100 mm increments - depending on the size of the dog. Deaf walls must be made of boards, corrugated board or slate. All walls must be painted, bumps and burrs and burrs must be removed.
Step 4
The roof of the aviary can be made of any roofing material - tiles, slate, galvanized iron, roofing material. The rafters must be strong and reliable. It is better to fasten the parts not with nails, but with self-tapping screws. The roof must be placed at a height that will allow a person to be in the aviary to their full height.
Step 5
It is better to place the door on the side of the front wall at a distance of 20 cm from the floor. The door should have a latch that fixes it in a closed state and a swing mechanism. At the same time, it must be padlocked. There must be a booth and a feeder inside the enclosure.
