It happens that a dog needs to induce vomiting, for example, if it has eaten poison or swallowed a small inedible object. The faster the owner reacts, the higher the chance that everything will be all right with the pet.
It is necessary
- - water;
- - salt;
- - potassium permanganate;
- - emetic root;
- - hydrogen peroxide;
- - syringe;
- - Vaseline oil;
- - apomorphine.
Instructions
Step 1
Open your dog's mouth and put a pinch of salt on the root of the tongue. At the same time, make sure that the animal does not bite you for such treatment. The dog's head should not be thrown back. Salt irritates the taste buds, so vomiting will come on very quickly. If you have any suspicions that the eaten item did not come out completely, give the dog water and repeat the procedure.
Step 2
Give the dog plenty of water (from five hundred grams to three liters, depending on the weight of the animal). If there is potassium permanganate in the house, you can make a weak solution (it should be pale pink) and pour the liquid into the mouth. Of course, your dog won't drink that much on its own, so use a large needleless syringe to pour water into your pet's mouth.
Step 3
Buy ipecac (vomit root) syrup from the pharmacy and give the dog one teaspoon per five kilograms of animal weight.
Step 4
Mix two to three teaspoons of 3% hydrogen peroxide with a glass of water and let the animal drink the solution. If this remedy does not work the first time, repeat after half an hour. Usually two to three glasses are enough to induce profuse vomiting.
Step 5
If you have petroleum jelly at home, give your dog at least half a glass and he will vomit. Vaseline oil is perfectly absorbed into the walls of the stomach, so that the owner does not need to worry about his pet, who has taken such a large dose.
Step 6
It is best if you always keep a vomiting agent in your medicine cabinet. Especially if you know that in your area they like to scatter rat poison. For example, apomorphine is suitable as an emetic.
Step 7
After you successfully induce vomiting, it is still worth showing the animal to the veterinarian, especially if your dog picked up poison on the street. In addition, hard objects could damage internal organs, which is best known in advance to prevent further problems.
