Unfortunately, people often buy a puppy into the house, guided only by whether they like or dislike a certain breed outwardly. If you decide to get yourself a four-legged pet with beautiful intelligent eyes and silky ears - a spaniel, then remember that this dog is not a toy. Spaniels are full-fledged hunting dogs, therefore they require very serious treatment. To keep him happy, educate him and provide him with the opportunity to periodically run through the forest.
Instructions
Step 1
The very first commands in a kid's life should be the general commands “place”, “no”, “fu” and “to me”. They need to begin to master as early as two months. Even if the training is in the form of a game, pronounce the commands clearly and do not use unnecessary words that "litter" the commands. You should not burst into a tirade: "Come to me, you scoundrel, how much you can repeat!", Instead of just working out the dog's reaction to two words "To me!".
Step 2
It is quite easy to practice the command "Come to me" with the puppy. Call him, showing a treat, and he will run up to you. Strictly adhere to the order of execution of this command: first say it, then show the treat, and then reinforce his obedience.
Step 3
Teach the commands "Do not" and "Take" by three months. These commands are especially important for spaniels that do not cross the bird. Practice the "No" command at the bowl, holding the puppy by the collar. A puppy rushing to a bowl of food is gently pulled with a whip. Never use your hand for this! Then give the permissive command "Take" and release it to the bowl. Over time, get your dog to follow these commands clearly without physical pressure from you.
Step 4
Another command especially necessary for spaniels is the Sit command. Show the puppy a treat, raise your hand up and command “Sit!”, With the other hand, press the dog on the croup, forcing it to sit down. While not letting you get up, reward your puppy with a piece of treat.
Step 5
Spaniels have an innate ability to grab game, so he will also learn the command "Give" quite easily. Throw the object and give the command "Give", as soon as the puppy takes it in the mouth, quickly approach it, command "Give!" and offer him a treat. Place the palm of the other hand under the muzzle, when the mouth opens, the object will be in your palm. Praise the quick-witted dog.
Step 6
Practice the "Seek" command with the spaniel, connect the children to it, who will be happy to play with the puppy, hiding from him the objects that he has to find. Distract the puppy and quickly hide a piece of the treat. On the command "Seek" he must find him, then pet the dog.
