Husky - breed features

The husky breed has features, thanks to or despite which these dogs are not suitable for everyone. The behavior of animals is often governed by the hunting instinct, however, they are considered unfit for hunting, since they only hunt down and eat prey, and do not bring it.

Huskies are not suitable as guard dogs, as they are not aggressive towards humans by nature and are friendly with strangers. It is unlikely that it will be possible to accustom the animal to guard the territory.

A husky dog is non-conflict, calm, gets along well with people, gets along with children, is quite mobile. She is well suited for transporting goods, works great in a team. The husky is ideal as a sports companion as it requires long walks and constant physical activity.

Dogs of this breed are quite intellectually developed: they understand words from conversations, they subtly feel the emotions of people. The Husky can be taught to obey, but it is one of those breeds that "on its own mind" and in some situations, its behavior can be unpredictable. The dog understands what he is being asked for, but first decides whether he needs it. It is important that the dog is raised by only one person in the family, whom it will consider the owner and obey.

Features of the content of a husky

Husky is a fairly easy breed to keep. The dog is clean and can groom itself like a cat. It does not have an unpleasant smell, therefore, huskies are bathed quite rarely - from 1 time per year. You need to brush your pet periodically. Molting in dogs occurs 2 times a year.

Dog handlers believe that huskies are easier to keep in a group. One pet will have to pay a lot of personal attention, since these animals do not like being alone. They bark very rarely, screeching and howling instead. Usually, if the dog is left alone, the neighbors have to "enjoy" the howl of the animal.

The disadvantages of the breed also include hobbies for "excavation", so you should not leave your pet in a well-groomed garden with a flower garden. Nevertheless, the most suitable place for keeping a husky is a country house or summer cottage. It should be borne in mind that such a dog is difficult to keep on the territory: it is able to overcome high fences or find other ways to escape.

The husky can be kept in the apartment, but you need to be able to let her run without a leash in the field or forest for at least an hour a day. In winter, you can provide her with the load by towing a skier or sled. In the summertime, do not overload the dog with prolonged training in the sun, as it can get heatstroke. Otherwise, huskies tolerate heat quite well.
