When choosing a diet for your pet, do not forget that the Yorkshire Terrier is a small dog with a very delicate digestive system. A large enough animal may not respond to spoiled foods or poorly balanced diets. And in a small Yorkie's body, this can lead to serious disruption.
Instructions
Step 1
At the age of 2-4 months, you need to feed the puppy 4-5 times a day. Yorkie's food should be complete and nutritious, contain the necessary minerals and vitamins. The puppy's food should contain boiled meat with rice, boiled eggs twice a week, fermented milk products, vegetables and fruits, boiled sea fish can be given twice a week.
Step 2
When your puppy is 4 months old, gradually reduce the number of feeds to 3 times. For a Yorkie, this period of life is very stressful, as puberty begins, teeth change and the puppy's growth continues. Therefore, be very attentive to your puppy.
Step 3
For 6 to 9 months, continue to feed your pet 3 times a day. Nutrition during this period also does not differ from nutrition in the previous stages. The Yorkie needs to be fed the same set of foods. By this age, the puppy ends its main growth and has already changed its teeth. However, the formation of muscles and bones is not yet complete and it occurs during this period of the dog's development. Therefore, do not forget to feed your puppy good quality meat in sufficient quantities.
Step 4
At 9-12 months of age, reduce the number of feeds to two times. The pet's food should be varied and complete, since the formation of the puppy is still ongoing. Feed your pet better in the morning and evening. A Yorkie's diet should include: meat, at least five times a week, fish and eggs, twice a week, vegetables and porridge every day. Give the meat boiled with rice, exclude lamb and pork. Eggs are best chopped finely. Be sure to give vegetables with vegetable oil and finely chopped. Use only boiled and sea fish, before feeding your puppy, make sure that there are no small bones in it. Finely chopped fish can be mixed with porridge or vegetables.
