A good aquarium heater is a must for people who want to keep a wide variety of fish species indoors. In their natural, natural environment, aquatic living things adapt to certain temperature levels. This should be taken into account when you plan to keep them in an aquarium and want to keep your beloved pets life and health for many months and years.
For the comfort of your fish, the installation of an aquarium heater is important, if not essential. It is a well-known fact that most of the fish species that are commonly referred to as aquarium fish come from tropical, very warm territories. There, the temperature differs significantly from that which is customary for modern Russian dwellings, where the average ambient temperature does not normally exceed 25.2 degrees Celsius. At this room temperature, tropical fish can die. They need a higher temperature. This is especially true for the coldest winter and autumn months.
External heaters
If you are going to have aquarium fish, you need to select and install an aquarium heater that will help create a comfortable environment for them. Today, a huge number of heaters are offered for almost every taste and wallet. They fit in a variety of ways.
The heater, which is placed directly on the aquarium bottom, has become widespread. It has suction cups that are securely attached to the base of the "fish dwelling". The main advantage of such a device is the uniform heating of the water. On average, in a short time, it can be used to heat water up to 25 degrees. It is not difficult to establish it. The main thing is that all the suction cups fit snugly to the bottom.
First of all, clean the walls and bottom of the aquarium, position the water heater so that it gets a secure fit (does not move when you press it or shake the container). Pour soil on the bottom, plant the plants and carefully pour the water. Be sure to test the unit before placing fish in the aquarium.
The dimensions of such a heater vary and directly depend on the size of the aquarium. Its disadvantage is only the difficulty of carrying out repairs during problems with the wire. This type of heater is external, which excludes the possibility of unnecessary penetration into the aquatic environment.
Internal heaters
There are others, internal heaters. They can be open and airtight. Open ones must be mounted very carefully: place the heater on the vessel wall as close to the bottom as possible, mask and pour water so that it is at least two to three centimeters higher than the upper heater valve.
If you use such a device, you need to monitor the water level in order to prevent a short circuit.
Sealed options are easier to operate. They are attached to the most convenient places of the vessel so as not to interfere with the fish. After placing the heater in the aquarium, you just need to plug its power supply into an outlet and let it heat the water to the required temperature. To install such devices, it is not necessary to drain the water from the aquarium.
