The Central Asian Shepherd Dog is an Alabai, a serious dog that requires an almost professional approach in its content. This is a herding breed, which is distinguished by a stable nervous system, patience and self-confidence. Alabai are dependent on a person, but they are brave and unobtrusive, they are used to making decisions themselves and never bark without a reason. They need to be trained in obedience, they need good care and proper nutrition. It is also necessary to feed Alabay puppies taking into account the characteristics of the breed.
Instructions
Step 1
To feed your puppy, create two separate aluminum or enamel bowls for water and food, and place them on stands that are appropriate for the puppy's height. When receiving food, he must pull his muzzle up. Adjust the stand as your dog grows.
Step 2
The food should be absolutely fresh, at room temperature. The timing of feeding should be strictly observed, after the end of the feeding, remove the bowl of food. You cannot overfeed the dog, this will immediately affect its exterior. Change the water 3-5 times a day, it should always be in the bowl.
Step 3
Feed your dog small amounts of concentrated food. You can not give the puppy sweets and bird bones in any form. Beef or lamb rib bones can become dangerous to his life.
Step 4
From a month and a half, start giving your puppy raw beef bones. They should be given at the end of the meal so that the puppy does not rush at them greedily, but gnaws slowly.
Step 5
Up to three months feed the puppy 6 times a day, up to four - 5, from four to six months - 4 times, then, up to a year - 3 times a day. From one to three years old, the Alabaevs are fed twice a day. After three years, switch to one meal a day 6 times a week, make one day a fasting one, unless the veterinarian prescribes another prescription.
Step 6
The transition to a reduced number of feedings is usually painless, the dog itself refuses one of them. Determine the amount of food a puppy needs by observing it. If the puppy overeats, then in the next feeding he reluctantly goes to the bowl and leaves the uneaten food. Reduce its volume or reduce the number of feedings.
Step 7
Do not feed your puppy between feedings and be sure to include fruits, vegetables, herbs in his diet - nettles, parsley, sorrel, celery, dandelion leaves, carrot and beet tops. To prevent worms, give him garlic daily. If the food is organized correctly, the puppy will not be too thin or fat.
