Before you get a husky puppy, read the rules for feeding your future pet. After all, the metabolism of dogs of this breed has its own characteristics. The healthiest foods for your husky will be foods that are high in protein and fat.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose the most suitable feeding option. This can be homemade food or ready-made food. The first option should only be chosen if you have enough time to prepare your food. Feed the puppy 5 times a day until 2 months of age, and 3 times for the next four months. And from six months, the husky must be fed 2 times a day.
Step 2
If you are going to feed your puppy with ready-to-eat foods, go for super premium products. These feeds contain all the necessary minerals and vitamins, besides, their components are well balanced. When buying, pay attention to the label. It is best if in the first place in the composition meat flour or meat is indicated. You should not buy foods that contain soy, vegetable protein, corn or dyes. When choosing this type of food, make sure that there is always a bowl of fresh water next to the food.
Step 3
If you decide to opt for a natural diet, start introducing new foods to your puppy's diet after a week of monorice diet. Boil a small piece of fish, such as Baltic herring or blue whiting, and add it to your rice porridge. The fish portion must be increased every day. After 4 days, it should be one third of the serving.
Step 4
If the introduction of fish did not cause allergic reactions or disorders of the digestive system, introduce vegetables. Start with a few boiled cauliflower florets or a few slices of zucchini. Increase the vegetable portion gradually.
Step 5
As soon as your puppy's diet consists of equal proportions of fish, rice and vegetables, start introducing meat. Start with hypoallergenic varieties like rabbit and turkey. Offer your dog a very small piece of raw meat and watch the body's reaction. If you don't have an allergic reaction, try a different type of meat. And then alternate meat days with fish days. Occasionally, you can give boiled offal. Make sure that the amount of meat in the diet is at least 50%.
Step 6
Try to add buckwheat porridge to the menu. And after a while, diversify the puppy's vegetable diet with boiled broccoli, carrots or pumpkin. Add grated fresh apples to the menu. Tomatoes and cucumbers should be given in small quantities, they help to remove plaque. Fruits and vegetables should make up 20% of the husky's diet, and cereals - 30%.
Step 7
In the morning on one of the feedings, give the puppy fermented milk products. It can be low-fat cottage cheese, fermented baked milk, yogurt without additives, or bifidokefir. Feed raw or boiled quail eggs once a week, but do not feed more than 2 at a time. Add a small amount of olive oil to your food daily.
Step 8
Be sure to combine vitamin complexes with natural food. The puppy should receive vitamins in courses or constantly, but in half the dose.
